Chart Review Consultation
This is a consultation requested by patients, family members, and/or referring physicians to get a second (and often third, fourth, fifth etc) opinion regarding complex care. This is a review of all records including any brain imaging, lab tests, and neurological testing without a direct examination of the patient. Dr. Datta has years of experience providing such consultations based on record review in order to revise diagnosis and treatment plans. This may be particularly beneficial for patients not located in California, who are not able or interested in an in-person examination, or to reduce costs. A detailed report of conclusions, additional treatment recommendations and answers to any other questions are provided.

One Time Consultations
Many patients seek a one-time specialist consultation to review their diagnosis and treatment plan. This includes a 2 hour+ neuropsychiatric evaluation, along with interview of collateral contacts, review of records (including brain imaging and neuropsychological testing), and provision of a written report with findings and recommendations to the referring physician.
All requests for patient care begin with an initial one-time consultation (which may be conducted over several visits) without the establishment of a doctor-patient relationship. If, after the conclusion of the consultation, both parties believe ongoing care with Dr. Datta would be appropriate and beneficial, this is a possibility depending on availability.
Extended Evaluations
For the most complex cases, Dr. Datta may provide extended neuropsychiatric evaluations of 6-8 hours including collateral interviews, and psychodiagnostic testing (including structured clinical interviews and psychological testing). As with standard consultations, this includes review of records (including brain imaging and neuropsychological testing), and provision of a written report with findings and recommendations to referring physician.
